Our winner, Gene Parker, was fishing the middle part of the lake. He caught all his fish on a spoon in about 50 feet of water. Gene also took that 5.61 pound tournament big fish from the 50 foot depth. Gene took home $804 from his first place finish, option pot and big fish pot.
Phillip Anderson of Saluda, SC finished in second place and caught his fish on a shakey head. He was fishing brush piles on the upper part of the lake. Phillip won $416 for second place and the option pot.
Cason Nickles of Due West, SC finished in third place with 10.93 pounds. He fished the middle part of the lake and caught his fish on a spoon and a blade runner in as deep as 35 feet. Cason won $115 for third place. Bill Pinion of Fair Play, SC finished in fourth place with 10.53 pounds and took home $86.
The day was mostly sunny with a NE wind at 10 to 15 for most of the day. We started at 38 degrees and were at 60 degrees for the 3pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the mid to lower 50’s. The main lake was clear and a little stained in the backs of creeks.
