First place, Steve Wicker of Pomaria, SC caught 4 fish weighing 14.90 pounds which included the tournament big fish at 4.70 pounds. Steve won the first place pot, first place option pot and big fish pot for a total of $ 1044.
Bobby Stanfill of Greenwood, SC was second with 4 fish weighing 12.90 pounds. His kicker fish was 3.83 pounds. His total for second place and second place option was $559.
Third place was Beau Dixon of Leesville, SC with 4 fish weighing 12.80 pounds. His kicker fish was 4.66 pounds. Beau had one dead fish at weigh-in and was given a half pound penalty which took him out of second place and put him in third. Beau took home $177 for third place.
Fourth place was Don Kneece of Saluda, SC with the only 5 fish limit in the tournament. His weight was 10.96 pounds. His kicker fish was 3.90 pounds. Don won $137 for fourth place. Fifth place was Evan Weaver of Lexington, SC with 4 fish weighing 9.98 pounds. Evan won $101.
Lake Murray was tougher than most had expected. Of the 32 anglers fishing only one had a 5 fish limit. 21 anglers weighed in a total of 50 fish with eleven angler not bringing any fish to the scales. The locations and details were not included in this report. The anglers that finished well were not asked for their details. Next weekend is the Big Bass Tour on Lake Murray.
Our day started out cloudy and 66 degrees. Winds were light and variable all day. Skies went to mostly sunny then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. We were at 85 degrees at the 3 pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the low 80s. The lake was clear but stained in the creeks and up the rivers and the level has dropped to 355.47 feet or about four and a half foot below full pool.
