First place, Carlton Price of Leesville, SC caught 5 fish weighing 14.95 pounds which included a 5.02 pound kicker fish. Carlton fished the upper part of the lake and caught all his fish on a Carolina Rig off points and laydowns. Carlton won a total of $ 704.
Joey Miller of Waterloo, SC was second with 5 fish weighing 13.91 pounds. He fished the middle & lower parts of the lake and caught all his fish on topwater baits. Joey took home $431.
Third place was George Berry of Saluda, SC with 5 fish weighing 13.24 pounds. His limit of fish was anchored by the tournament ALX Rod big fish of 5.82 pounds. He fished the upper part of the lake and caught his fish on topwater baits early then flipping later in the day. George won $230 for third place and big fish.
Our day started out clear and 54 degrees. Winds were light and variable all day. Clear blue bird skies all day long. We were at 85 degrees at the 3 pm weigh-in. Water temps were in the mid to high 70s. The lake was clear but stained in the creeks and up the rivers and the level has dropped to 322.94 feet or about seven feet below full pool.
